As seen in the documentary “Unknown Chaplin, The Great Director”
This was a home movie taken on the set of “City Lights” by Charlie’s friend Ralph Barton in 1929. It was in the 1970’s it was discovered by a nephew of Ralph Barton’s. An extraordinary find.
Here he goofs around a bit for Ralph’s benefit. The film shows Charlie behind the camera, including working the pivotal scene where the tramp and the flower girl meet.
